Family holidays

A family holiday should be a break for everyone, grown-ups included. I’ll help you find somewhere that works for all of you, from little ones to grandparents, and think through the practical bits like flight times, room layouts and how far the pool is from your room.

What’s usually included

Every trip is different, so this is a general guide. I’ll always confirm exactly what’s included in your booking before you pay.

Often included

  • return flights and accommodation, on a package holiday
  • family rooms, suites or apartments, depending on the hotel
  • a choice of board basis, from self-catering to all inclusive
  • resort transfers on many packages
  • kids’ clubs at some resorts, usually for set age groups

Often extra

  • some kids’ clubs, crèches or babysitting
  • cots, car seats and buggies, depending on the hotel or supplier
  • seat selection, so you can sit together
  • excursions and theme park tickets
  • travel insurance

Good to know

  • Room layouts. Interconnecting rooms, family suites and apartments all work differently, so I’ll check what fits your family.
  • Travel times. Flight times and transfer lengths matter more with children, and I’ll keep them in mind.
  • School holidays. These are the busiest times, so it helps to plan early if you need specific dates.
  • Passports. Every child needs their own valid passport. Check the expiry dates early.

Who it suits

Families with babies, children and teens, and bigger groups with grandparents too.

Ideas to get you thinking

A few popular choices. There are plenty more, so if somewhere else is on your list, just ask.

  • Spain and the Balearics
  • Canary Islands
  • Portugal
  • Greece
  • Turkey
  • Florida
  • family-friendly cruises
  • Cyprus

How I can help

  • Shortlisting places with the right facilities for your children’s ages
  • Comparing room types and board options
  • Thinking through flights, transfers and seats together
  • Pulling in extras like theme park tickets or excursions
