Beach and sun holidays

There’s nothing quite like that first moment you step out into the warmth and know the next week or two is all about slowing down. Whether you want a quick hop to the Mediterranean or a long-haul island escape, I’ll help you find the place, the hotel and the board basis that suit how you like to relax.

What’s usually included

Every trip is different, so this is a general guide. I’ll always confirm exactly what’s included in your booking before you pay.

Often included

  • return flights and hotel together, on a package holiday
  • your room or apartment for the nights you’ve chosen
  • a choice of board basis: room only, bed and breakfast, half board, full board or all inclusive, depending on the hotel
  • hold luggage, depending on the airline and fare
  • resort transfers on many packages

Often extra

  • excursions and day trips
  • airport parking, lounges and seat selection
  • travel insurance
  • local tourist or resort taxes, which are often paid at the hotel
  • some drinks, à la carte restaurants or activities, even on all inclusive

Good to know

  • Board basis matters. All inclusive can be easy for families and budgets, while bed and breakfast leaves you free to try local restaurants. I’ll talk you through what each one means at the hotels you’re looking at.
  • Timing makes a difference. Some places are hot in high summer and pleasantly warm in spring or autumn, and some have rainy seasons. School holidays tend to be busier.
  • Location within a resort. Being right on the beach, close to restaurants or somewhere quiet can change the feel of a holiday completely.

Who it suits

Couples, families, groups of friends and anyone who wants proper downtime in the sunshine.

Ideas to get you thinking

A few popular choices. There are plenty more, so if somewhere else is on your list, just ask.

  • Greek islands
  • Canary Islands
  • Balearic Islands
  • Algarve, Portugal
  • Turkish coast
  • Cyprus
  • Caribbean
  • Maldives
  • Mauritius
  • Thailand’s islands

How I can help

  • Narrowing down where to go for the time of year and the weather you want
  • Comparing hotels, room types and board options so you know what you’re getting
  • Flights from an airport that suits you, where routes allow
  • Adding extras such as transfers or excursions if you’d like them
